Dreams About The Past

Monday morning I woke up confused. I laid in bed trying to process my dream. I dreamt that I walked into work and my ex was working in the warehouse. He didn't work for my company, he was just fixing the heater. I could tell from a distance that it was him, I came back into the office before he could see me, I wasn't sure how I was going to NOT let him see me, or I thought maybe he knew I worked here. This other guy he was working with came up to my desk and said we are having an issue in the back, the warehouse manager asked if you could come come to the back. So I took a deep breath and followed the guy. As I approached the back my ex looked up, and I could tell he was just as surprised to see me as I was to see him. We didn't make eye contact for long, proceeded to discuss the problem with everyone. When it was settled I started walking up to the front. I could tell he was following behind me. Then I hear his voice say I didn't know you worked here. I said I didn't know you worked in the city, do you live here now too? I turned around, he looked the same as he did the day I left. Scruffy, wearing a cowboy hat, dirty jeans, and a t-shirt. You look like you're doing well he says to me. I responded with I'd appreciate it if no one knew we know each other. I have a job to go do, and so do you. After that I don't remember saying anything else to him. I remember looking at him a few more times, but that's about it.
It's been a while since something has triggered a memory and I've thought about him. Life goes on and I know I'm a different person, in a different place now. Calendar dates can play such a mind game on you. Last Sunday would of been our 7th anniversary. So I know why I had the dream of him. Sometimes I wish I could erase him from my memory, but then I wouldn't remember how far I've come, appreciate the struggle I went through.

I discovered this website that is great for interpreting dreams. You can really get a lot of insight by looking things up pertaining to what you dreamed about.

http://www.dreammoods.com

Here is what it says about your dream.

Ex Boyfriend
To see an old ex-boyfriend from childhood in your dream, refers to a freer, less encumbered relationship. The dream servers to bring you back to a time where the responsibilities of adulthood (or marriage) didn't interfere with the spontaneity of romance. You need to recapture the excitement, freedom, and vitality of youth that is lacking in your present relationship.

Work
To dream that you are at work, indicates that you are experiencing some anxiety about a current project or task. The dream may also be telling you that you need to "get back to work". Perhaps you have been slacking and need to pick up the pace.

To dream that you are at your former or past work, suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to your current situation.

To dream that you are hard at work, signifies success and merit. Alternatively, it may suggest anxieties about a current task or project. You may need to "get back to work" and stop procrastinating.
