Weekend Report

Friday night after work I had to pick up Y at her cousins house. 1. I had never been to this address 2. Last minute plan change on location. The expressway sucked, bumper to bumper the whole way. When I finally got off, I had to drive another 20 minutes. Finally I arrive, get her, jump back in the car, and head for home. Since it's no where close to the expressway and it is now rush hour, I had to take the streets. We didn't get home till 6:30. Which means I was in the car for 2 hours! I'll admit I was slightly irritated/annoyed by the time I got home. At least this is not a regular location to pick her up, so lets hope I don't have to do it again :)
I made dinner, and we watched Bionic Woman. (I'm not really into this show, but they both enjoy it so I usually suck it up and watch it with them)
Saturday F took my car and had it washed, checked a tire, etc. Y and I went for a walk on our downtown. I love our little downtown, the weather was amazing. We checked out the card store, had to pick one up for my parents anniversary, and one for my grandma. Went home had some lunch, then headed back out to the Halloween store. Y picked out her costume, she is going as Fire Flames. It's actually very cool looking. We also got a black and red wig to go with it. She tried it on when we got home, then we made Carmel apples. The apples were so big we only had enough carmel for 8. Later that night we went to a Pampered Chef party my friend was having. F went out to the bar with the guys, and Y played with her friends at the party. The rep for Pampered Chef actually was a trained chef, she made awesome chicken nachos, pork sandwiches, and this gooey brownie dessert. Wow is all I have to say! I love kitchen stuff. So I picked up a few things. I don't enjoy baking so much, more main course things. I decided since the rep is so well trained, I want to have my own party. I think she makes the experience so worth it. I have never been to a party where the rep went to culinary school.
So look out I'll be sending some of you invitations!
Sunday Y and I woke up early, T volunteers for a non profit organization in Naperville, and we were helping with a food drive. This organization feeds over 500 families during the holiday season. They set up a table, had a sign, and some flyer's with suggestions of items they needed donated. As people were walking into the store, we'd just mention what we were doing. So many people donated, it was great to see. Y really enjoyed herself as well. I am happy she was able to help such a great cause, and understand what/why she was doing this. Later in the afternoon we went to the movies as a family, then out to dinner. All in all it was a great weekend.
