Time flies when your not having fun! I'm finally starting to feel better.
Monday I had jury duty. How sad is it I wanted to go to work than drive to jury duty. The courthouse I had to report to was not close to where we live, traffic is always very rough. I headed out earlier on Monday just to make sure I arrived on time. I brought some snacks with me instead of buying crap from the vending machines. As I stood in line waiting to get into the building they had this sign up stating all the things you could not bring in. Food was one of them. So I had to go back to the parking garage to leave it in the car. I finally get into the courthouse where the guard tells me juror's can bring in food! Thanks for not putting that on the sign. I was not going back to the car, so I just headed the the room. Tons of chairs were seated everywhere, we watched a video, and a lady told us today 3 cases were being heard and would need jurors. I read some magazines, part of my book, but mostly people watched. I'm a big people watcher, and this room did not let me down. Some lady came to court in sweat pants, and a big puffy bright sweater, she made me giggle. What I did not appreciate was the old man behind me who feel asleep and likes to fart! I literally had to get up and go into another room. By 11:00 they announced one case settled. At 2:00 they announced the other two plead guilty, and we were dismissed! I felt a little disappointed all I did was sit and wait, but in the end I beat the traffic home. They say you're not supposed to be called again for jury duty for another year, here's to hoping it's true.
Tuesday was busy at work. My bosses father comes in on Mondays, and since we upgraded our software 2 years ago, he basically can't assist me. He had been doing a spreadsheet of our payments, but he kept messing it up. Finally after a year of that, it's been taken away from him. It is so hard for me, he taught me a lot about accounts payable and receivables. He can't grasp the computers, and who really can blame him, he's 80! So I've been trying to give him things to do, like make copies of the checks for me, and the bank register. So on Monday he does this while I am not working, and he copies 3 checks on one piece of paper, then everything is out of order, I'm missing copies of some checks all together. It was nuts. Something that should of taken me 20 minutes to due took almost 2 hours. My boss doesn't help the situation either, he just laughs and shakes his head. He doesn't care because it doesn't concern his everyday life. On Tuesday I showed the new part time lady in the office how to do everything and explained when I am not in the office she is to handle the project. Then I told my boss he needs to speak with his father and tell him he's no longer able to do it. I left it up to my boss to give his father projects to do. I sympathize with his dad, it must suck to want to come to a work environment, but know your not really doing anything. I can't imagine how I'll feel when I'm 80. Honestly I don't want to be working just for fun!
Wednesday I had a doctors appointment. Since it was just supposed to be a check the baby's heartbeat, and my weight I agreed to see another doctor from the practice. This way I can meet the rest of the team as they put it. This doctor happened to be a man, which I have never been to do a guy doctor for "lady town" as I put it. His nurse informed me that he would be doing an examine in "lady town" and immediately I was like "no" "why" she basically just ignored me, probably thought I was kidding. I was told to go get blood work done, then come back and get undressed from the waist down. I started freaking. So I called F on my cell phone told him what the nurse said, and that I didn't want to do it. He's like then don't. You do not have to. I went to do blood work and just so happens my doctors nurse is there, I ask her why didn't anyone tell me I had to do this exam, I wouldn't of agreed to see him then. She was shocked the nurse told me I had to do this, so she went and talked to the nurse. When she came back she said I told her you refused it, and that your not his regular patient. I was relieved. I'm back in the exam room he comes in, he's very nice. Measures my belly which has grown in the last week a lot! He says your measurements are on the larger size, your going to have a big baby. Thanks doctor for NOT freaking me out! This wasn't turning out to be an easy appointment. I wish I didn't tell F he didn't need to go with me.
Today is report card pick up, Y is anxious to go get it. We are meeting her mom at 1:00. I'm interested to see the inside of the middle school, and meet her teachers. Of course my fingers are crossed that her social studies grade came up, and the rest of the grades remained the same. Especially since last night I had to pay for dance classes and one performance show! I can tell Y has been making more of an effort with her homework. Guess we will see.
