Yes it's begun. Wednesday was the first day F was supposed to start working at the new house. I had already set up the security company to come for the alarm, ordered the water to be turned on, and the electric. F goes, first he can't get into the house, mostly because when I talk he doesn't listen. After calling me, I walk him through the locks, he gets in, only to find no ELECTRIC! Which was supposed to be on Monday. No one called to say "sorry having issues can't hook up" This begins my whirlwind of phone calls. Turns out, we have no electric meter. Yep the plastic cover which we thought was just covering the meter, isn't covering anything! Another set of phone calls to add to my list. Had to cancel security appointment, and now pray that no one decides to try and break in. Electric company says the city of Chicago has a hold on the meter, at this point I know I'm screwed. If anyone has worked with the city, you know it's a slow slow process. That is unless it's them who wants something from you! Day ends with no good news in sight. I'm frustrated, stressed, and very irritated. This is the part where I knew was going to take a lot of effort, shutting off business when I walk through the front door. I tried, it's hard. I was mad that F didn't notice before we closed that the meter was missing, mad that our agent didn't notice either. To make matters worse, F's truck is acting up this week, so between Monday & Tuesday we've spent $480 to fix it. He wouldn't even talk to me about it when I got home, basically said, don't ask it's not good news. What the hell does that mean!
We spent the rest of the night, ordering Jimmy Johns, and watching American Idol with Y.
I know things will work out, they always do. I shouldn't be surprised we're having issues right from the beginning, NOTHING has ever been easy for us. I know we are strong enough to survive this. Basically I just needed to vent.
Thanks B-unit for listening to me yesterday!
