Spring where are you? This weather is driving me nuts. Pick a season already! What I love about Spring is the flowers. When I was in high school I used to work at a floral shop. We would get shipments in of fresh flowers daily. I would go in the back, fill up new buckets of fresh water, open the boxes, cut the end of the stems, and separate flowers into the buckets. Sometimes I would work in the greenhouse, watering the plants, making dish gardens (which is an arrangement, made up of plants, rather than flowers) In the beginning I would hate having to work in the greenhouse, but I grew to love the quietness. I liked the idea of everyday new people coming in looking for something special, for a special person. Knowing I am part of making someone smile, when they received the arrangement. After a few years they taught me how to make fresh flower arrangements. That was fun, but I liked working one on one with the customers most of all. I miss the flower shop! I guess I never knew how much I loved that job till now. Was it hard work...yes...at times, but mostly it was fun. Would I think working at the flower shop now as an adult fun??...probably not. With all jobs comes stress, just the way life goes I suppose. I'll always have my memories of the flower shop.
Merry Christmas 2012!
