Office Politics

I've touched this subject in the past. I can't help but rant some more. Why as grown adults, do we have to deal with office politics? I swear it's junior high all over again! I used to think office politics only existed in big corporations, which is why I never fit in. Being part of a small business setting I've now come to see it happens everywhere. I say this a lot "I'm done", but it's true I'm so done with office politics. I play nice with everyone, and it gets me no where. In the position I'm currently in, I have no where else to go, I'm at the top. You'd think being at the top means not putting up with b.s. just seems like I have to deal with it more. My personality at work has changed, mostly because I don't like anyone I work with, and don't care what they think of me anymore. I just do my job. I have a bigger picture for me and my family, and if that means going back in time to junior high again, well I guess that is what I have to do. One of the sad parts to me is so many people have to deal with the same crap. It shocks me when I see the behavior of some people, I can't believe they think it's appropriate. Maybe it's my small town mentality...
